The Better Homes Ottawa Loan Program (BHOLP) continues to support Ottawa residents in undertaking improvements to their properties that lower utility costs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and increase the overall resiliency of the property. This City program will continue, despite the somewhat abrupt closure of the Canada Greener Homes Grant program in February 2024.
As of March 31, 2024, 198 projects have been completed since the program launched in late 2021. Here's a table of the completed projects by ward.
Further information on the BHOLP can be found at betterhomesottawa.ca/loans
Additionally, Earth Day is a good time to look at Climate Ready Ottawa, our Draft Climate Resiliency Strategy. Residents are encouraged to visit the public engagement page, complete the survey or come to an open house. Finally, the Climate Change team, along with the City’s Solid Waste Team, will be supporting a Repair Café taking place on Earth Day at City Hall, led by the Ottawa Tool Library.
