I wanted to take a moment to address the ongoing run of parking violations in Constance Bay. I’m pleased to see that Ottawa Traffic and Parking By-law enforcement officers continue to be active and engaged at Constance Bay this summer, responding to community concerns about illegal parking, and ticketing offending vehicles. There has been a range of parking violations, including numerous incidents of visitors leaving their vehicles on residents’ lawns.
On that front, the shoulder of the road is covered in overgrowth in some areas, blurring where property lines begin and end. As a result, officers issued some tickets in error this past weekend.
After reviewing the circumstances in these particular cases, Bylaw Services have cancelled parking tickets issued for those incidents. To request a review of your ticket, you can send an email directly to bylaw services Michael.lalonde@ottawa.ca and provide the following:
• Licence plate number
• Date of ticket
• Address where the ticket was received
• Make and model of vehicle
• Phone number & address of registered vehicle owner
Please note that my office does not interfere with the Bylaw process. But every parking ticket will be reviewed, and the decision to cancel the parking ticket will ultimately be at the discretion of By-law Services.
