Councillor Kelly Attends Fitzroy Dinner Featuring Guest Speaker Bill Stewart

On Firiday October 25th, Councillor Kelly attended the Fitzroy Historical Society's Annual Dinner. This year, the guest speaker was Bill Stewart from the RCMP Musical Ride who shared an evening of memories about his friendship with Queen Eliabeth.

From Councillor Kelly:

Friday night, I had the pleasure of attending and helping to welcome guests to the Fitzroy Township Historical Society Annual Dinner. This year, we heard from Bill Stewart who spent 37 years with the RCMP Musical Ride and a career that led to him to meeting Queen Elizabeth more than 40 times.

In fact, she liked him so much, she requested his presence at events long after his retirement. It was an amazing story to hear along with great dinner and even better company.

Thank you to the volunteers with the Fitzroy Township Historical Society for putting on a great event and working to make sure we don’t forget our rich history as a community.
