When Councillor Clarke Kelly was elected in 2022, he made a promise during the campaign to establish a local agricultural advisory council. On Monday night (Sept 18), that council met for the very first time, gathering at the West Carleton Community Complex in Kinburn.
During this productive meeting, some of the common concerns centered around planning issues, roads, and City of Ottawa service levels. These meetings will continue on a quarterly basis.
"Our new agricultural advisory council will help inform my positions and hopefully inform city policy relating to agriculture and rural affairs," Kelly said. "Last night was our first meeting and I am happy to have begun this process. I look forward to working with them over the course of the term."
