On February 1st, Ottawa City Council received an overview of the 2023 City Draft Budget. Ward 5 Councillor Clarke Kelly made a brief statement this afternoon on the overall budget and some of the tax dollar investments specific to Ward 5:
Together with my staff and the input of residents, I am now working to fully understand the implications and benefits of the overall budget for our residents of Ward 5, West Carleton-March. Here are the draft budget highlights that are direct investments of tax dollars into West Carleton-March:
While this is a great investment for our infrastructure and transportation, we do have more road coverage than any other Ward in the city, so no amount feels like enough.
I will now be further exploring the City-wide budget to understand where we will benefit from additional investments (for example, Paramedic Services), and I welcome your input via email. You can also have your say at our in-person, public consultation on February 7th at 7pm at the West Carleton Client Service Centre, 5670 Carp Road in Kinburn. If you plan to attend, please RSVP with an email to Clarke.Kelly@Ottawa.ca.
Best Regards,
Clarke
