At the City Council Meeting on December 14, 2022, Councillor Kelly brought forward a motion regarding the City of Ottawa hosting a Rural Summit during this term of council. The objective of Rural Summit 2024 is to recommend improvements to the provision of the City of Ottawa services to residents and communities of rural Ottawa.
At a recent Rural Summit Resident Working Group meeting, the date and location was set for the City's first rural summit in 15 years. It will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, from 8:30am-1pm, at the auditorium in Sir Robert Borden High School at 131 Greenbank Road in Nepean.
This venue seats 655 people and was chosen for its central location, 35-45 minutes from the farthest crossroads in each rural ward.
