Evolugen, the company proposing Fitzroy BESS facility, now targeted for South March, has announced it will host a series of public engagement sessions in the coming months. The next session will be an Open House on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at West Carleton Secondary School. A follow-up session is also planned for the week of March 3rd.
Evolugen says it plans to share a list of studies and reviews (see below) that it’s undertaking to inform City Staff and Council deliberations on the proposed projects.
Evolugen says it is committed to publicly releasing all of these materials, and is currently working on the publication schedule. Additionally, in an email sent to our office this week, Evolugen says it proposes to use Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries in the proposed facility and that the site will be monitored on a 24/7 basis from its control centre in Gatineau.
