Ottawa Public Library Offers New Programs at Carp and Constance Bay Branches


Do you need help with your tax return? If you have a modest income and a simple tax situation, trained volunteers may be able to complete your tax return for you for free. Ottawa Public Library is partnering with the Canada Revenue Agency to offer free tax preparation through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.


The Carp branch will be offering free tax clinics in English and Mandarin on a first-come, first-served basis.


The Carp Branch of the Ottawa Public Library is offering, through the Canada Revenue Agency Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, a Free Income Tax Clinic on various dates in April. Clinics are in English and Mandarin and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Thursday, April 10, 2025 - 7:00pm – 8:30pm

  • Tuesday, April 15, 2025 - 7:00pm – 8:30pm

  • Thursday, April 17, 2025 - 7:00pm – 8:30pm

  • Tuesday, April 22, 2025 - 7:00pm – 8:30pm

  • Thursday, April 24, 2025 - 7:00pm – 8:30pm


 

The Carp Branch is also offering a film screening program on Saturday April 26 at 2:00 pm.

Join them for a viewing of Elsewhere, a documentary trilogy by Lynda Hall. This trilogy explores themes of belonging, of attachment to places, of ruptures in our lives, and how a connection to family can help define us, all explored through the lens of adoption.


The film will be preceded by a short introduction to provide a personal context for the making of this work and followed by an open discussion with the audience. Registration is recommended Drop-in welcome.



 

NEW!! The Constance Bay Branch is offering Storytime from 10:30 am - 11am and Stay & Play from 11am - Noon on Tuesday mornings until May 13.


 

Constance Bay Family Storytime 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Stories, rhymes, and songs for preschool children and a parent/caregiver. Stay & Play 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  Stay to play and chat after the program. There will be self-directed activities and toys for young children with their parent/caregiver. Drop-in program. All ages welcome. Intended for children 0-5 years-old.
