The City’s Spring Freshet Task force continues to monitor and prepare for the coming season.
Â
Sandbag locations are now open to the public at the Constance Bay CC located at 262 Len Purcell Drive and the Kinburn Works Garage at 4127 John Shaw Road.
We have had some Ward 5 road closures and reports of

standing water in large fields, and increased water in ditches, creeks, and rivers.
Â
At this time, the sandbags are a precautionary measure being implemented to assist residents with pooling water on private property.
Please note that this is not an indication of potential risk associated with the Ottawa River.
Â
Sandbag locations will be updated throughout the freshet season at ottawa.ca. We are currently experiencing some web issues on our backend, but Len Purcell will be added as soon as these issues are resolved. More information to help residents ahead of the freshet can be found here.
Â
With the ongoing melt, we encourage residents to monitor conditions and to sign up to receive alerts from the MVCA for this area specifically.
Here are the latest updates from our Spring Freshet Task Force.
